Who is this Masked man
My love for photography came from my late father, Ray. He was my inspiration — the one who placed my very first camera, a Canon T-70, into my hands. From that moment, I was hooked.
As a child, I was always out taking photos. There were far more failures than successes, but I loved every part of the process — capturing the image, developing it, studying what I’d created, and figuring out how to improve. Even now, I look back on those early attempts with a sense of nostalgia. One of my fondest memories is sitting with my parents, going through snapshots stored in an old shoebox.
For reasons I still can’t explain, I stopped. It wasn’t until 2012 that I picked up a camera seriously again — and even then, it took another three years before I truly committed. In 2015, I joined the Guild of Photographers, putting my work up against some of the best in the industry to see how I measured up.
Over the years, I’ve worked across almost every genre of photography — often driven by client requests rather than my own direction. But each challenge helped me grow. To meet those demands, I adapted, travelling across the UK to learn from incredible photographers and mentors. I firmly believe you never stop learning in photography; there is always something new to discover. The day I stop learning is the day I’ll put my camera down for good.
That dedication paid off. I achieved my LSWPP qualification with the SWPP, earned Craftsman and Master Craftsman titles with the Guild of Photographers, and, most proudly, was awarded a Fellowship with the SWPP — one of the highest honours in the industry.
I’m also an active member of the SWPP International Judging Team, where I have the privilege of helping to assess and celebrate outstanding work from photographers around the world.
Giving back to the photographic community is something I truly value. Whether through mentoring, judging, or sharing my experiences, I’m passionate about supporting others on their creative journeys.
After years of working across different genres and shooting for others, one thing has become clear: I thrive on the energy of the projects I’m part of. Whether it’s a live event, a creative collaboration, or a one-of-a-kind moment, that energy is what continues to inspire me to create.
